This Mudcloth (or Bogolanfini) textile features a black and white triangle pattern. One of the most well known fabrics in West Africa, it is handmade using cotton which is soaked in fermented mud creating a natural dye and then painted with symbols that tell stories of the artisans that created it.
All of our goods are handmade by refugee women in Chicago working to gain meaningful employment.
Minor imperfections, or signs of age, are an inherent part of our handmade textiles and add to the originality of the piece.
